Flying Tigers:

Rockies - 11

Wranglers - 0

FINAL

Rockies: A stellar performance on the mound earns the Rockies their first win of the season!

Jason Hunt dominates in this one, getting the start and pitching a complete game shutout, facing the minimum! One out away from sealing his first career no-hitter, Hunt gives up the only hit of the night for the Wranglers. A baserunning blunder would see the end to this one. Hunts final stats: 6 IP, 6 Ks, 66 pitches.

Offensively, there was production up and down the lineup. A collective effort would plate 11 runs, on 9 hits, and 12 walks.

Wranglers:

Dayton Braves - 2

Mudcats - 5

FINAL

Dayton Braves:
Mudcats: The Mudcats defeated their long time Dayton rivals 5-2 to go 1-1 on the young season. The Braves scored 2 runs in the top of the 3rd to take a 2-0 lead but the Mudcats responded with 4 runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning. That was all the run support starter Rich Sherick needed as he went the distance allowing 2 er while striking out 5 Braves to earn his remarkable 101st Mudcats career win truely a remarkable feat in mens adult baseball!

Swashbucklers:

Merdians: Off to a better start than last year.

Sting - 1

Outlaws - 4

FINAL

Sting: Sting bats quiet again. Outlaws played a great game on the defensive side to kill a couple of Sting rallies. Schau goes 5IP and gives up a bomb, misfields a comebacker and takes it off the throat. Sting had a nice 5-4-3-2 double play to end the 6th.

Outlaws:

Chiefs - 7

Tigers - 5

FINAL

Chiefs: Chiefs win in 6 innings (due to darkness) off of 15 hits in a back and forth game. Being down in the 5th inning, we scored 3 runs on a sac fly by Ryne Poli, the game tying single by Zak Farmer and then the go ahead run on a double by Matt Flamm.

Offense was led by Elliott (2B) and McHale with 3 hits a piece. Dowty and Finley with multi hit days as well. 9 out of 10 Chiefs hitters recorded a hit tonight with doubles added by Tilley, Flamm and Zimmerman.

On the mound, Krutzler gets the start and did his job of keeping us in the game going 4 innings while only surrending 3 hits. Hilliard came in with the lead, throwing 2 scoreless innings with 4 strikeouts.

Tigers:

Suds - 1

Depenbrock 2B

Jarrett 1-1, 2RBI

Muse gets the win. 4IP,0R,5K.Kroell and Taylor finish up.

FINAL

CC Reds: Great comeback from the Reds last night. Every inning leading up to the 7th, we left runners in scoring position and could not capitalize. Huge hit from Rookie Mitchell Louis to put the Reds up 4-3 in the top of the 7th with two outs.

Kevin Mattingly came in relief for three innings and dealt to earn his second win of the young season. Rundle threw out two runners on the basepaths from behind the plate, and the defense looked good as a whole.

Timmy Rogers stays hot at the plate, where he went 2-2 at the dish. Reds play Raptors 9:30 a.m. at Mason Sports Park this Sunday.

Yankees - 18

Dodgers - 2

FINAL

Yankees: Great debut's for the FNG's. Bryson Lonsbury gets the win with 3 solid frames of work allowing just 2 hits and striking out 3. Fellow rookie Nick Plaatje collects 3 hits and does a great job behind the plate. Bullpen work solid with single innings from Ryker Miller, Adam Ruwe and Kevin McClung.

Solid hitting top to bottom in the lineup. Several guys with multiple hits, highlighted by Sam Medina with an inside the park HR, 6 RBI and 4 runs scored.

Always a pleasure to have Casey Hall's family in the house rooting on his Yankees!

Knights - 15

Wranglers - 5

FINAL

Knights: Knights start off the Hawkeye farewell tour the right way with a 16-6 opening day victory.  Sean Taylor records the win going 6 strong innings allowing just 2 ER while going 5-5 at the plate with 2RBI and 2SBs.  Rookie Joe Craig comes out hitting the ball hard, earning the other game ball going 3-5 with 2RBI and a double.   Every Knight recorded at least 1 hit.

Wranglers

Dodgers - 8

Rockies - 2

FINAL

Dodgers: Reid Maus gets the opening day start and pitches lights out throwing 7 innings of 3 hit baseball allowing no runs. Freed closes it out throwing the last 2. Offensively we struggled against the Rockies new arm who lit us up through 5 innings striking out 12. From the 6th on, we hit. Steven Salisbury leads the offense reaching base 3 times including a triple to lead off the game and scores twice. Maus also helps his cause at the plate going 2-5, 3B with 3 RBI’s. Fogle 1-2, R. Holderbach, O’Brien, Clark, Cote and Diaz all 1-3. 11 hits from 9 different guys. Total team effort!

CC Reds - 13

FINAL

Flying Tigers:

CC Reds: Kevin Mattingly shined on the bump, throwing 5 shutout innings and striking out 7 and only allowing 2 hits -- to get his first win of the season. Rob Rundle threw the last four innings and got the save. The Reds would've had a 13-0 shutout after the 7th inning, but an obstruction was called during a pickle between second and third. The very next at-bat was a two-run HR from the Flying Tigers to keep the game alive.

Timmy Rogers went 3-5 with a 2B, 3B, and 2 RBI. Rookie Mitchell Louis hit a grand slam to dead center off the first pitch he saw in the bottom of the 6th inning; congrats to Mitchell, and welcome to the league!

FINAL

Bulls: Tough opening day loss as Chiefs rally from down 3 in the last 3 innings.

Hoeffler: 3-4,R,RBI

Gaskins: 1-2,2B plus 2.1IP,0R

Today's obscure baseball rule is rule 5.06(b)(4)(C). We caught a break today.

Chiefs: Chiefs win on a walk off double by Zak Farmer. Offensively, we were led by Jamie Spottz as he goes 3-3 with 2 walks,a HR and a 2B. Mitch Elliott had a 3 hit day and Farmer added a single to go along with his game ending double. Five other Chiefs hitters were able to reach base safely via a base hit.

On the mound, Mike Hilliard got the start throwing three scoreless and giving up zero hits. Farmer threw 3 innings on the bump as well only giving up 1ER. Austin Merkle in his CABL debut, comes into a tie game in the ninth inning, throws a scoreless inning and receives the win on the mound.

Another fun game against the Bulls as usual. Back at it again on Wednesday.

Sting - 2

Yankees - 0

FINAL

Sting: A playoff win would have been better, but an opening day win against the defending champs is a good start to the season. Sting take advantage of 7 freebies on the day and plate 2 in the 4th. In his return to the CABL John Kennedy records the only hit for the Sting on the day lacing a 2B in the 8th. Glock goes 9IP, 2H, 0R, 20K, 5BB, HB. Glad to be back at it.

Yankees: The out of town ringer is back after a year off..........and we still can't hit him.

3 new pitchers and Barger combine to hold the Sting to 1 hit and rack up 16 K's. Back at it Wednesday night

Tigers - 6

Mudcats - 4

FINAL

Tigers:
Mudcats: The Mudcats opened the season with a tough 6-4 loss to the Tigers. The Mudcats took a 4-0 lead into the 7th inning but the Tigers were able to plate 2 runs with 2 outs to get to within 4-2. A 3 run 8th put the game away as the Tigers walked away with an opening day victory. A.J. Wilson was great on the mound going 6.2 ip with 0 erned runs and scattering 7 hits. Curtis Allen made his Mudcats debut in relief but took the loss. Leading the way at the plate was Brian Pierson going 2-3 with 2 rbi's and Mike Sosebee who went 2-4 and stole 2 bases.

FINAL - Yankees win Championship

Bulls:

Yankees: Instant classic. League Player of the year candidate Aaron Thomas delivers a base hit in the bottom of the 11th to score Collin Shrader with the winning run as the Yankees claim the 2023 CABL championship with a 7-6 win over the Bulls. It was the Yankees first championship since the 2012 season. The Yankees had leads of 4-1 and 6-3 but the Bulls wouldn't quit scoring 3 in the 8th to tie the game. Zach Hile pitches into the 10th inning for the Yankees, while Kevin McClung comes out of the bullpen to collect the win. The Bulls loaded the bases with one out in the top of the 10th but McClung was able to turn back the rally. First off congrats to the Bulls on a tremendous year, a regular season title and a terrific championship series. We knew it would be a tough series and they made us earn it.

Yankees:

Yankees break open a close game late with 5 in the 6th and 4 more in the bottom of the 7th to advance to the finals. Another great start by Lyle, he goes 7 innings of 2 run baseball with 6 K's. Player of the year candidate Aaron Thomas led the offense with 3 hits and 4 RBI along with a pair of walks. RJ Thompson with 2 hits and barrels multiple shots deep into the outfield while Ramsey/McClung each chip in with a pair of hits. Way to battle back from the brink of elimination winning 3 in a row with our backs to the wall.

Tip of the cap to the rubber armed Bret Miller and the Sting, great series and season. Honored to battle you guys 6 times this year, looking forward to resuming the rivalry next season!

Bulls: Bulls advance to the championship series for the first time since 2018 with a come from behind win against the Chiefs. Every game is a war with those guys. I wish we played them 12 times a summer.

Schunk's 2-run single breaks a 5-5 tie in the 8th. Bulls trailed 5-2 midway through. Mays 2-run single and Snare RBI single were the key hits.

FINAL

Meridians:

Mudcats: The Mudcats ended their season in disappointing fashion losing to the Meridians 4-1. In what would turn out to be a theme for the 2023 season the bats just couldn't generate any offense as they left runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out 2 different times but failed to get any runs across the plate on them. Rob Riley again pitched a solid game going 6 innings of 2 earned run baseball while scattering 2 hits to take the loss. Jason Moore came in and finished the game up going 3 innings of no run baseball while striking out 4. Anthony Bennett went 2-4 with a double while Jason Moore also went 2-4 with the lone Mudcats rbi.

(1) Bulls - 5

FINAL

Chiefs: 9 hits but couldn't bring anyone across the plate. McHale & Flamm with two. Farmer, Spottz, Hyatt, Krutz, Dowty with one. Collin 3 innings and Famer 5 with 2er each.

Bulls:

Bulls get a Maddux from Kroell - CG, 8h, 3Ks, 90 pitches.

Muse drives in 2 early runs with a SacFly and an RBI double.

Mays adds a big 2-run single to extend the lead.

Schunk 2-3,2R

Nice work at the bottom from Duncan and Hoeffler to turn the lineup over with men on base. Hoeffler's base running in his spot and in Schunk's as courtesy runner was key for at least 2 runs.

Defense came up big with 3 double plays.

(3) Sting - 6

(2) Yankees - 5

FINAL

Sting: After 16 straight batters retired, Yett gets a 1 out walk in the 8th, this woke us up to plate 4 runs, and take the lead. Yanks tie is on a 2 out single in the 9th to force extras. Sting score two in the 10th on a 2B by Murph and a Sac Fly by Rinck. B. Miller throws all 10 to get the CG win. Great team win.

Yankees: Had a 3-0 lead in the 8th with 5 outs to go when the wheels fell off. Sting get 4, we tie it in the bottom of the 9th. Give up two in the top of the 10th, get one back in the bottom of the 10th but can't get the tying run across.

Outlaws: Outlaws lose a heartbreaker after leading most of the game. Outlaws initially get the lead on Glischinski's 3R HR in the 3rd inning that easily clears the short porch in left center. Outlaws get the bases loaded in the 4th and 5th innings but can only get 1 run across each time. Konkle throws really well over 7 innings, only allowing 3R/ 2ER. Konkle goes back out for the 8th and the Suds bat around after seeing him for the 4th time, and take their first lead of the game. Suds hold on to win in the 9th. Outlaws infield turns 3 double plays to back up Konkle as well.

Wilson went the distance allowing 0 earned runs while striking out 6. Jeremy Allen came out of his semi season retirement reaching base all 4 times going 3-3 with a walk. 11 Bulls collected hits.

(7) Dayton Braves - 0

(2) Yankees - 4

FINAL

Dayton Braves:

Yankees:

Braves give us all we can handle in the playoff opener. Beall was every bit as good as advertised, we didn't get a hit off him until the 6th.

Shrader and Thomas with clutch 2 out hits to pace the offense. McClung adds some insurance with an 8th inning RBI.

Hile was lights out tossing 8 scoreless innings, Lyle finished it off with an imprressive 9th. Defense was solid as usual, we roll a pair of double plays. Boyd saved us a run with his play in LF, and Weinewuth to Lyle in the 9th was a web gem. Lets keep it rolling Sunday.

(6) Dodgers - 2

(3) Sting - 6

FINAL

Dodgers: We picked the worst game of the season to play poor defense. Multiple IF errors leads to 4 unearned runs, and we never recover. Can't make errors and beat good teams. Offensively no clutch hits.13 guys reach base and only 2 score on a walk and wild pitch. 0-6 on the day with runners in scoring position. We will re-group and try to keep our season gonig on Sunday...
Sting: Sting play a great defensive game behind D. Miller's 15K, 8H, 1ER, CG. Poli, Ricci and Deerwester with multi-hit game. Sting offense takes advantage of a couple of defensive miscues from the Dodgers.

(12) Tigers - 6

(4) Chiefs - 8

FINAL

Tigers:

Chiefs: What a game tonight as the Chiefs win 8-6 after trailing for 7 innings. Offensively, Mitch Elliott led the way going 3-3 including the go ahead bases clearing triple in the 8th inning. John Krutzler also had a 3 hit day including a 2B in the 8th. Every spot in the lineup reached base safely at least once. On the mound, Hilliard gets the start and doesn't have his best stuff. Managed to give up 5 hits 3ER with 8K across 5.1IP. Cudney comes in for the remaining 3.2 innings giving up 1ER while striking out 5.

(10) Outlaws - 7

FINAL

Meridians:
Outlaws: Outlaws pull out a walkoff win in a game that was closer than it should have been. Outlaws defense kept providing extra chances with errors, and the Meridians took advantage hitting the ball hard with the extra opportunities. After 2 unearned runs give the Meridians the lead in the top of the 7th, the Oulaws come back with 2 runs to walk it off on a string of hits, capped off by Galante's RBI single. Outlaws offense gets it done by spraying singles all over the field, and without any extra base hits. Hoosan ends up with 3 hits and 3 RBI. Glischinski throws all 7 innings, again throwing north of 140 pitches, allowing only 1 ER with 10 Ks and 3BBs. All in all, we're able to pull out the win and move on to play the Suds.

(11) BrewCrew - 9

(8) Mudcats - 8

FINAL

BrewCrew:
Mudcats: The Mudcats go down in disappointing fashion as they dropped round 1 of the consolation tournament 9-8. A 6 run 1st inning buried the Mudcats as they kept clawing back run by run but came up short in the end. Rich Sherick had a rough start and took the loss. Jason Moore came in and pitched brilliantly going 8.2 ip allowing only 1 earned run while striking out 11. Jeremy Griest led the 10 hit attack going 2-4 with 4 rbi's. Aaron Trebnick also hit well going 2-3 with a walk and 2 steals.

8/13/2023

Dodgers - 7

Chiefs - 4

Dodgers: We put all the pieces together and get a much-needed win to stay in the thick of the playoff race. Doug Warner gets the start and throws the CG and gets the win. He allows 2 earned with 8 strikeouts. Rubber Arm Warner has 4 starts on the season and has gone the distance in all 4. Eric Leichliter leads the offense with 2 more hits and 2 more RBI’s extending his league lead in both. Is it too early to start talking MVP for Leichliter?! Ryan Freed also with 2 hits, runs and stolen bases. Overall just a solid team effort against a solid Chiefs squad who are clearly hampered with some injuries.

Chiefs: Not a good day for Chiefs baseball. Offensively, Spottz led the way going 3-4 with a 2B. Flamm, Farmer (2B), Hyatt and Dowty all with multi hit days. Farmer got the start on the mound and went 3IP followed by Willis throwing 4IP with 6Ks. Dowty and Hilliard close out the game with a scoreless inning each.

Meyer also goes 3-4 with 3R, 2RBI, a double and a stolen base. Morton goes 4-4 with a double and 3RBI.

The ageless one Hawkeye Pierce adds a hit.

Deerfield - 0

Yankees: Game was much closer than the final score would suggest. Deerfield starter Heffernan was tough through 5 on us. We get a few late to pull away

Thomas led the offense with 4 hits while McClung drove in 4 more runs. Ramsey with a laser shot 2 run  HR to left in the 8th

Deerfield:

Outlaws - 13

Dayton Braves - 17

Outlaws: This one feels like a game the Outlaws gave away. The offense was potent today, led by Keels' 5 hits including a triple off the top of the wall, and Glischinski's 4 hits and 3 run home run the day after hitting 0 in the home run derby. Walks and defensive miscues again were the detrimental factor for the Outlaws. Glischinski got the start on the mound and labored for 5 innings of 4 R 0 ER 6K 6BB pitching with only a few singles allowed. After the Outlaws went up 9-4, the wheels really fell off the wagon all around.  The Outlaws fight back after getting down 17-9, but came up short after a few base running blunders as well. All around an ugly game to forget outside of the batter's box.

Knights back at it Sunday vs the Rockies.

Outlaws: Hoosan climbed the hill for the first time in over a decade and throws a really solid 3 innings, only allowing 1 run on a fielders choice that was almost a double play. Cain comes in for the next 1 and 2/3rd innings, but a few fastballs run in and the HBP gets him in a bit of trouble. Glischinski comes in to secure the bases loaded jam, as well as having another shutout inning in the 6th. Outlaw bats missed a few opportunities with bases loaded/runners in scoring position early, but got a lead early and held on. In the bottom of the 6th we finally time up the Knights starter and put an additional 7 runs on the board. Knights fought hard but Outlaws prevailed. Game called for sunlight after 6 complete innings.

FINAL

Dodgers: One of the best played games I’ve ever seen in the CABL. 7 innings couldn’t decide it. 0-0 going into the 8th when we finally got something going. Eric Leichliter starts the inning with a double but gets gunned down at the plate trying to score on a Jim Fogle single to end the threat. We don’t actually break through against Jeff Barger until the 9th. We load the bases with no outs. Then after a ground out and IF line out, Malcom Diaz gets the huge, clutch 2 out hit to score Eric Aufderheide and Alex Holderbach. Reid Maus gets the start on the bump and pitches lights out throwing all 9 inning for the win. He allows only 1 run. ROY contender Steven Salisbury got it started with a leadoff double, his 2nd extra base hit on the day. Then Malcom Diaz goes big fly to make it 7-6. He is also 2-4 with 3 RBI on the day. Knights offense led by a 3 RBI day by Boulding who went 2-3, Grant who's bat seems to have awoken from its hibernation with a 2 hit day, and Meyer who continues his rookie season with a clutch 7th inning double.

Mudcats - 6

Outlaws - 1

FINAL

Mudcats: Mudcats finally get a well rounded game in as all 3 aspects (pitching, fielding and hitting) came together for a 6-1 victory. Rob Riley earned a game ball going the distance on the mound allowing only 2 hits and 1 run while striking out 4 batters. Rob also came through at the plate reaching base 3 times on a single, double and a walk. Also hitting the ball well was Aaron Trebnick who went 2-2 with 3 rbi's and a walk. Brian Crowley hit a big 2 run triple maybe his first career 3 bagger in the CABL for him.

Outlaws: Lights were on but nobody home as Outlaws come out flat and can't get locked in. Mudcats play a clean quality game of baseball and take advantage when opportunities were given to them. Quality at bats and clean innings for the Outlaws were few and far between. Mental game needs to be improved for the next one.

Deerfield:
Suds: Suds got them on and got them in early as we score 6 of our 8 runs in the 1st and 2nd inning. Luebke deals the Suds the 1st complete game of the season 6h 4K 2bb. Crail goes out of the yard 2-3 3rbi r and some stellar D at 2b . Markle 3-4 2b 3rbi r. Mesker 2-4  r. Bell scores 3 times without gettting a hit. Glick fills in nicely at 1st base. Comes flawless at 3rd with 6 assists. No errors tonight. Rust turns a single into a triple defensively playing a big shift in RF.  Suds wish farewell and good luck to 1st year Sud Danny Tirado heading back to Texas.

Knights: Knights use clutch hitting and defense to nab the 10-3 win.  Taylor goes the distance in an old school outing scattering 10 hits and 3 walks while giving up just 3 earned runs.

Morton leads the way offense going 4-4 with 2RBI and a 2B.  Boulding sets the tone early with a 2RBI hit in the first.  Rookie RBI machine Z. Steinkoenig adds another 2Ribeye steaks to hit total.

Morton and Alcala both start highlight reel double plays to kill 2 separate Brew Crew rallies.

FINAL

Outlaws:

What began as a good game ended in one of the more unique ways you'll see this season. Outlaws jump ahead 5-1 before a few lead off walks open the door for the Piratas to tie it up in the bottom of the 5th. In the top of the 6th, after approx the 4th balk call against the Piratas for not coming to a stop with runners on, some Piratas tempers flared and a player was ejected. Piratas tried to talk it over with the umps as a team before deciding to forefit the rest of the game. It's a shame for baseball as it was shaping up to be a well played and competitive game. Looking forward to meeting the Piratats again at the end of the year!

As for the Outlaws, Glischinski gets the start and strikes out 9 batters though 5 innings, but walks and a botched pickoff attempt bite him back as he allows the Piratas to close the gap with some quality at bats. Konkle gets 2 hits with an RBI, Clay Moerlein gets a double with an RBI, and the rest of offense is spread through the lineup. Lots of guys ended up being left on base due to pop ups. A few more line drives or ground balls and it may have been a different story. On to Wednesday.

Happy Fathers Day to all, including the 3 Bulls who became first time dads this year.

Bulls bats break out of year-long slump. Batted around and scored 6 in the 3rd and put up 5 more in the 5th.

3-hit days for Muse (3-5,3B,3RBI), Depenbrock (3-5,RBI), and Evans (3-4,RBI). Schunk/Mays both had 2 hits including a double.

Hoeffler battles through 6IP, 3ER, 6Ks. Kroell closes 3IP,8Ks.

And somehow we misread the home/away from website. Bulls played as home team.

Chiefs: Happy Father's Day to all the dads. Not our best. Struggle bus. Moving on. Bulls did their job. Sounds like Schunk will live.

Suds: Suds and Tigers combined for 36 hits on this Fathers day with a record attendance of 24 (half  being under the age of 5). Every Sud in the lineup gets a least one hit. Knights:

In a game that took less time to play than your standard date in the red light district, the Tigers eek out 2 runs of 2 hits to edge the Knights 2-1.  Knights score their lone run on a Meyer double, a wild pitch, and and RBI groundout by Grant.  A true pitchers duel with Bellofatto allowing just 2 hits over 7 innings with 2 runs, only 1 of which was earned.

total time of game: 1 hour 15 minutes.

Dodgers - 11

Raptors - 3

FINAL

Dodgers: 10-0 game after the 4th and assumed it was going to be a runaway. However, Raptors didn’t get the memo and refused to quit. Kudos to them for making it a game. Brad Clark leads the offense and is perfect on the day going 3-3 with a walk and 2 runs. George Cote also perfect with 2 clutch bases clearing hits. He goes 2-2 with 4 RBI’s. Ryan Freed, Jeff Madden and Malcom Diaz all with 2 hit days as well. Eric Leichliter hits 4 laser beams on the day but gets nothing out of it due to some nice glove work by Raptors infielders. Newcomer Alex Holderbach collects his first career CABL hit with many more to come. Stephen Smith gets the start on the bump and collects the win, throwing the 1ER, 6K, CG. Nice effort by him to eat the innings and save our relievers!

Mudcats - 7

Piratas - 6

FINAL

Mudcats: Tough game against a solid Piratas team. Errors and a few mental mistakes felt like it was going to cost us a close game as we headed to the 7th down 4. We responded with 5 big runs in the top of the 7th and held on for the win. Rob Riley gets the win going 6 solid innings while A.J. Wilson comes in to close the door in the 7th. Paul Frank led the way hitting going 2-3 with a 2b. Brian Pierson also came through big going 2-4 with 2 rbi's including a huge 2 out rbi single in the 7th to give us the lead.
Piratas:

Outlaws - 0

Bulls - 4

FINAL

Outlaws:

Outlaws fought hard today against the Bulls, but came up short. Bulls strung together some 2 out hits in the first inning to get 2 runs across and that was all they needed. Outlaws came out hitting the ball today, but the Bulls kept finding ways to make plays and hold us from scoring. Bulls are given 2 more runs later in the game, but it ends up not making a difference as they win 4-0. Timmerman goes all 7 in the fast game, finding his groove in the later innings of the game, as it only took 1.5 hours to play 7 innings. Clint Moerlien and Hagan each get a double but end up stranded, with Moerlein's bouncing over the wall and holding him at second. Outlaws looked pretty good all around, but the Bulls simply outplayed us tonight. Overall, not a game to hang our heads on.

Also, for opponents interested in reviewing past games or having family/friends watch your game live, we live stream just about every game on our Facebook page.

Also also, a player of ours lost his gold wedding band at some point. He played 2B and we were in the 1B dugout.

Bulls:Outlaws write up pretty much sums it up.

RBI hits from Mays and Snare in the 1st give us all the runs we needed. Add 2 runs later on throwing errors.

Rogers tosses a 3-hit shutout. 5Ks.

Despite only having 5 hits, the bats showed some life. Several long outs and right at them liners.

Sting - 8

BrewCrew - 9

FINAL

Sting: Props to the BrewCrew. Sting go up 6-0 after 2, BrewCrew get 9 in the 3rd and 4th. Mixture of well placed BrewCrew hits and a few defensive miscues from the Sting. Sting add two more on an Andy Sullivan 2 run single in the 5th. Tough luck double play in the top of the 7th on a liner to the pitcher with the leadoff man on. Poli stays hot at the plate going 2-3, 2B, 3 RBI, R, BB. Onto Sunday.

BrewCrew: Circle your bingo card if you had the BrewCrew beating the Sting tonight...

Yankees take advantage of Flying Tigers being a bit shorthanded with their starting pitcher not showing up.

Yankees get 8 runs in the first, 4 in the second and 15 more in the third inning. Team record 27 runs on 16 hits, with the benefit of 14 walks and 7 more hit batters.

Clements tosses 3 no hit innings for the win

Chiefs: Chiefs win 10-2 as the bats are starting to wake up. Game was called at the end of the 6th due to darkness. McHale (2B), Spottz (2 2B) and Clary all with multi hit days. Farmer, Krutzler, Day-Suggs, Shaw (2B) and Dowty (2B) all with hits as well. Hilliard gets the start on the mound, going 5 innings, 5 Ks and giving up his first earned run on the season. Outlaws - 11

BrewCrew - 4

FINAL

Outlaws:

Outlaws play their cleanest 6 2/3 innings of baseball so far this season as we get our 6th victory. But with 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th, a walk and an error open the door for a few good hits to drive in some extra runs for the BrewCrew. Outlaws still hold on to win 11-4. Konkle has a great start, going 7 innings with 1 walk, 1 earned run on a solo shot in the 5th, and 5ks. Half of the Outlaws hits went for extra bases, as Cain, Glischinski, and Hagan each have 2 hit days. Hoosan gets his first hard hit ball in the CABL for a double to the wall and gets the monkey off his back. Kasperowicz needs to hit the gym as he hits yet another warning track shot in 2 games and has to settle for a ground rule double.

Knights: The classic "game was much closer than the final score" type game.

knights and Suds play to a 2-2 tie through 7.  Suds finally break through in extra frames with 6 in the 8th to get the 8-2 win.  Sebald goes 7 innings, striking out 11, allowing 2 unearned runs. Donaghey goes 2-2 with a clutch game tying RBI in the 5th to continue his breakout season.  Conrad continues to be a menace at the plate and on the bases going 2-3 with a stolen base and a run scored.  Morton adds a double and a run scored.

Reid Maus leads the offense with a 3-4 day with and RBI and run. Diaz, Leichliter and Freed also with multi-hit days. Fogle with the other RBI, Freed with the other run. Hits come from Majercak, Markle Luebke and Mangino. We took a 2 run lead into the top of the 7th but a walk and an error set up the go ahead 3 run shot to put us down 1. We tried to answer in the bottom of the 7th getting our leadoff hitter on 2nd base with no outs and the heart of the order up but just ran out of steam. Proud of the way my team responded against a solid team. Fernbaugh took the loss on the mound. Bennett 2-4 with an absolute bomb to left and added on a double as well. Knights: Another Wednesday, another time shortened truncated game that doesn't fall in the Knights favor.  Knights jump out to an early 4-0 lead only to see it disappear by the 3rd inning when the slugging Piratas pull ahead 5-4.

A setting sun and a few gifted outs allow the Piratas to put up a touchdown in the 4th to pull ahead 12-4 when the clock struck 8:15.  It may have only been half of a game, but it counts as a full 7 in the record books.

Not to be outdone, Brad Clark and Malcom Diaz also with multi-hit days. 10 different Dodgers get hits and 9 score runs. A total team effort at the plate. Brian Hollander returns from a brief stint on the DL and gets the start throwing 2IP with 2 K’s. Dodgers: Dodgers get the win against a much improved Knights team. We score 4 in the first and never look back. Malcom Diaz, who always seems to come up with the clutch hit when needed, does it again with a 2 run single in the 1st to start the scoring. Freed also reached base twice and scored both times. The offense struggled with only 3 team hits on the day. We threw a three headed monster of rookies on the bump and they managed to get the job done. Newcomer Hunter Pemberton threw 3.2 innings, struck out 4,  and ended up getting the win.
Knights:

Both teams take advantage of early pitching to finish all scoring.  After the 2nd inning the Knights and Dodgers trade zeroes in a pitchers duel.  Game ends in a time shortened 6 inning game as Fogle executes a 4-D chess pitching change to run out the clock preventing the potent top of the Knights lineup from appearing in the 7th.

Weird playing the Chiefs without Sand or Shaw on the mound.

Chiefs: Chiefs offense goes stale as we only had 1 hit on the day by Mitch Elliott. Farmer has another great day on the bump letting up 1 unearned through 6 innings with 9 strikeouts. Onto the next.

Suds - 0

Yankees - 6

FINAL

Suds: Close game until the 6th. Yanks wiggle off the hook in the 1st with a 1 out bases juiced double play. Yankees push one across in the 2nd on 2bb and 1b. We squander another chance to score in the 3rd with some overly aggressive base running.   In the 6th with one out and a Yankee runner on third Gino attempts to gun down his 2nd runner tagging from 3rd for an inning ender, a strike to the plate beats the runner but called safe on the slide. Yankees then proceed to string together 4 hits in a row. Once again we get more free passes than hits 4/3, but we hit a lot of Sunday school grounders  Markle, Ruebel and Mangino only Suds to get a hit. Glick solid in his 1st start. 4ip 5h 1K 2bb HBP er.
Yankees:

Chase Stewart tosses a 3 hit shutout for the win. Gets out of a first inning jam with  a 6-4-3 double play, one of three double plays turned by the Yankees. Stewart shows off all that offseason PFP work by covering first on a 3-1 putout!

Great job behind the dish by Moulton, guns down a would be base stealer at 3b in the 3rd inning.

Multi hit days for B Shrimp, Arend and Jonesey. Congrats to McClung for career hit #400 with a single to center in the 6th inning. 389 hits now as a Yankee and 11 as a Cub in 2007. Kevin is only 5 hits away from becoming the Yankees all time hit leader.

Rammy robbed of extra bases on highlight reel catch by Suds LF in the 3rd inning.

FINAL

Dodgers: Dodger bats come out hot with 5 first innings hits and runs culminated with a 2 run triple by Malcom Diaz. Unfortunately, defense lets us down again with 2 huge infield errors in the 3 and 2 more in the 5th allowing 6 unearned Bulls runs. You can’t give great teams extra opportunities because they will take advantage! Freed got the start and pitched well enough to win throwing 5, allowing just the 1 earned run. Offense lead by Brad Clark who had the only 2 hit day going 2-4.

FINAL/10

Chiefs: Chiefs beat the Yankees in 10 innings. Everytime we scored, the Yankees answered right back. We hit the ball hard most of the night, with a few right at the Yankees defense. Game tied, top of the 7th, Hyatt hits a double and two batters later, Dowty comes up big with a single to center to go ahead by one. After two Chiefs' errors, the Yankees scored the tying run to send the game into extras. We ended up finding a couple barrels in the 10th inning, scoring 4. Farmer started on the bump, going 5IP 4H 3R 0ER striking out 8. Hilliard came in for relief and went 5IP 3H 1R 0ER. McHale (2B), Farmer (2B), Hyatt (2B), Dowty and Spottz all with multi-hit days. Excellent game on both sides. Onto Sunday.

Yankees: Back and forth game. Yankees had their chances with the winning  run in scoring position in the 7th, 8th and 9th innings.  Chiefs put together some clutch 2 out hits to plate 4 in the top of the 10th inning to break the tie.

FINAL

Sting: It was a nice day for baseball and parking lot drinks.

Chiefs: Clary with a 5 RBI day 🤯. 2B by McHale and Clary. Multi-hit day for McHale and Elliot. The offense shined in the 3rd inning for the Chiefs. Chief's pitching combines for 10ks, 0 runs, 1 hit. The Sting's Matt Hill hits a screamer (2mph) that breaks up the combined no-hitter during the would be the last out of the game 🤦‍♂️.

Piratas - 10

Dodgers - 2

FINAL

Piratas:
Dodgers: Brian Hollander gets his first start on the young season and pitches well enough to win throwing 4 innings allowing just 2 earned runs on 4 hits. 2-2 game into the 7th inning when the wheels fall off. Inning starts with 2 infield defensive miscues and the Piratas take advantage with multiple clutch hits. Dodger pitching walks 11 batters on the day. Not going to win a lot of games with double digit free passes. ROY candidate Steven Salisbury has the only multi-hit day going 2-4 with an RBI.

Knights - 4

Deerfield - 10

FINAL

Knights:

Deerfield: Great team performance brings us our first win of the season. Parrett throws 4 strong innings allowing 0 hits, and striking out 7. Tringleof finishes it out with 2ip and 5k. Parrett, Powers, Tringleof, Coleman, and Kemp all tally multiple hits ending our offensive hibernation and helping Deerfield defeat a vastly improved Knights team. Tip of the cap to Chief for catching the whole game, and also to Hawkeye for strolling down to first after a HBP in the rib.

Rockies: Costly errors and 10 LOB earned us our first loss of the season. BK gets the start going 5 innings and giving up 0 ER with 4 K's. Bach in relief goes 2 innings giving up 1 ER and recording a K. No walks between the 2. Offense tallied 6 hits and 7 walks on the evening. Bach 2-3, AK 1-1, J. Schulte 1-1, Hunt 1-2, Minser 1-3. We bounce back Tuesday.

Bulls runs scored on 2 bases-loaded HBPs, a couple errors, and an RBI  ground out.

FINAL

Yankees:  Casey Hall day today at Foundation. Thanks to everyone for honoring the memory of our former teammate. Special thanks to his wife Perry and daughter Gwen who threw out an awesome first pitch!

With every Yankee wearing #25 Hall jerseys we conjure up some late inning magic with 4 in the 9th inning to get by the Dodgers 7-4. Moulton's RBI groundout tied it, while rookie Collin Shrader breaks the tie with a 2 run single. Boyd adds an insurance run with a single later in the inning.

Lyle was sharp today tossing 6 innings, allowing just one run and 4 hits while striking out 6. The lefthanded "nasty boys" of Clements and Trester finish off the final three innings for the win. Defensive webgem by medina to turn back a potential Dodger rally in the 7th.

Great pitching by Diaz from the Dodgers to hold us to one run over 7 innings. Some impressive bats in the Dodger lineup as well, they're gonna surpise some teams this year!

First "Beerstool" review of the year is Coors Banquet. Rammy gives it an 8.8, Jones is less impresed, the average comes out to a 7.1. High bar to set. Next beer review is Wedneday night at Schuler! One sip everyone knows the rules!

Dodgers: Dodgers open up the 2023 season with a very disappointing 7-4 loss to the Yankees. We score 3 in the bottom of the 8th to take a 4-3 lead. Fogle starts off the rally with a single and eventually scores on a clutch 2 run double from Eric Aufderheide. Eric goes 2-3, with 2 doubles and 2 RBI on the day. Unfortunately, the lead was short lived as some defensive miscues allow the Yankees to plate 4 runs in the top of the 9th to take home the W.

Bright spot on the day is Malcom Diaz, who starts and goes 7 solid, allowing only 1 earned run with 8 strikeouts against a solid Yankees lineup. He definitely deserved a win.

Also, Steven Salisbury had a stellar rookie debut going 2-4 with a double and triple. Its never too early to start pushing ROY right?!
