The league's 39th season opened up on Sunday with the Knights and Brew Crew meeting up at Ross Park. Caleb Conrad struck out 10 batters over 5.2 innings to lead the Knights to a 7-4 win. Break up the Knights! It was the Knights 5th consecutive win dating back to their bronze bracket championship last season, their best win streak since joining the CABL in 2018!
Nine innings wasn't enough at LaSalle as the Meridians and Bulls went extra innings. The Meridians had the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th with no one out but their rally was turned away. The Bulls plated 2 in the top of the 10th to get the win.
Will Thackery's double broke a 4-4 tie in the top of the 8th as the Pistons outlasted the Rays 6-4. Thackery also picks up the win in relief with a save from Austin Reder.
The Sting built a 13-0 lead in the top of the 6th inning only to see the Raptors cut the lead down to 13-11. The Sting were able to put the game away late scoring 6 more times over the final 2 innings. The offense was led by Brandon Howard with 4 hits and 5 RBI.
The Chiefs plated a run in the top of the 7th to break a 3-3 tie and hold on for a 4-3 win over the Cubs. Rob Rundle paced the Cubs offense with 3 hits.
